Weather vane on keeny hall

Anybody know if there is any history or significance to the weather vane that sits atop Keeny Hall? What is the image of the weather vane? I was looking at the Tech style information from another thread and noticed in one image there appears to be a blacksmith on the vane. Is there any significance to it?
