    Bethea: Patton is ready to step up

    San Francisco 49ers veteran safety Antoine Bethea says that former Louisiana Tech receiver Quinton Patton "is ready to step up," after a practice this week.

    Patton says he feels he has "more confidence and he can measure the growth from his first two NFL seasons" and "is working even harder," is smarter and "knows the game better."

    Ive no doubt he's been ready. But I dont think he's in a good system to shine.
