    I'm fed up..........

    ......with all this rain. WTH?

According to local news/weather people here in DFW, we've already had over 16 inches of rain this May. That far surpasses the previous all-time record of 13 inches, which was set in 1982. (I know....TWSS). And we're showing a 75% chance or more rain tonight.

I know this is the football thread. But this is a "football related" story because I'm a football fan.

Yes the rain cramps my style and it has caused some problems for a lot of people. The Edwards Aquifer is still below the average for May with the really hot and dry months ahead. I'll take the rain so I can get a cool glass of water in the future. Just let it rain a little slower so people don't get hurt.

The lack of rain plus extreme heat has killed about 40 times as much in the last week.

I dont even know what that means. I guess you're just trying to be argumentative and one-up everybody. Regardless, where I live we've gotten far more rain in May than we needed, and far more than is healthy.

I've lived in Dallas off and on since 1996. This is the most rain I have seen in a whole year. Its been crazy for sure. I will say though, it has been cooler than normal. I remember back in 2011 we had over 100 degree weather in May with no rain at all. Everything was brown and dead by July. I'll take the crazy rain over the oppressive heat. Interested to see how the rest of the year goes. Its definitely not normal.

I like you HD, you are a pretty good person and a great fan, but sometimes you can't see past your nose.

1800 died in India in the last week because of extreme heat and lack of rain.

Most of Texas finally got the amount of rain it needed, even where you live, which still may not be enough in the long-term. It was only too much in the timeframe, not the quantity.

All I know is we're over a foot above our average rainfall, and it's flooding in places I've never even seen a puddle stand in after a good rain. Live in this area 25 years. The rain is getting ridiculous.

The media's attention has been directed at the Houston area. Is it as bad in the Dallas area? An honest question, because I really don't know.

I think JB was probably speaking of the extreme drought and heat currently going on in India where about 1000 people have died. I think I read where the temperature has been consistently over 110 degrees there and the power grid is over taxed. I assume even under the best conditions, power supply is inadequate.

    Re: I'm fed up..........

We had about a foot where I live SW of Houston. No flooding near me and the closest creek (about 200 yd) is still about five or six feet below the bank. The Brazos River is about six or seven miles west and it is above flood stage. It and the Colorado River have been high for a couple of weeks. About ten days ago I drove due west and while both were high I went across two smaller rivers, one just about five miles west of the Colorado, and couldn't see any water in them. I assume they are full now because they drain from up toward Austin/San Antonio.
