Anyone have any scoop on baseball recruiting? Would like to know what geographical area Goff is going to start focusing on in order to develop a pipeline.

Apparently Hinds Community College! I like it, #1 JC college baseball program last few years. Think we signed 5 off this team, many from LA schools.
Well Goff is a Delta State product so I imagine he has deep connections in the Magnolia State. Any link showing bios of signees?
I tried to find it at latechsports but couldn't. There was a release at one time, nice looking class with several N LA kids in it and 3 from Hinds played HS in LA.
I think I found the list. Be interested to see if he goes back to Hinds for this upcoming class also or if he loads up on more high school kids.

He said when he was hired that he would have to build the team around some jucos and that he would use scholarships to build a pitching staff. Smart move since we have TOPS to supplement the rest.
Not using jucos to build a team is really silly since the P5s are using jucos as a "farm system". We will still continue to pick up freshmen who can play immediately. IMO, it doesn't make sense to pick up a freshman who can't be an impact player only to red shirt them or for them to just take up a roster spot. The more pitchers the better.
I figured he would farm the Metroplex and try to develop a pipeline there, but the Juco approach makes sense, especially in Mississippi where there are so many. Straight shot down I-20 and he presumably has connections there.
This was in TNS today...

Outstanding article - timing couldn't be better! Like the fact that some of these kids have North LA ties also.
Interesting numbers from this story. We lost 12 seniors, and Goff is bringing in 21 new players. With the NCAA restricting rosters to only 35 players -- and since we had the maximum 35 on this year's roster -- that means nine players will be left out. It appears he'll use the fall as a competing ground for roster spots, but unless some of the signees don't show or nine of the returnees elect to quit or transfer, it could get a little messy.

Seems like we don't recruit N LA at all
