Oh, the horror of the limitations!
Glad to see TMac grew a pair on this release.
I'd let him go with none of the restrictions. A player shouldn't be forced to hold up his end of a deal when no coach can be forced to.
These are perfectly fair. We aren't forcing him to stay around but we aren't conceding any recruiting ground to any semi-local teams.
He says lack of stability in the program is why he is leaving. Let's see: One head coach leaves to take over one of the top jobs in the country and an assistant leaves to take over the head coaching job at a Div. 1. school. That isn't lack of stability. That is people having a chance to better themselves and taking it.
On the other hand, Stapleton is coming across is big baby who didn't get his way.
Why do I have the feeling that he has an offer from a higher profile school?
Good riddance!
The "prohibited" schools:
"We are granting Mr. Stapleton a release to attend any institution not a member of C-USA, not on Louisiana Tech's 2015-16 schedule, not located in the states of Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Arkansas and not the University of Florida."
Our young AD has finally done something impressive. I bet White has been talking to Stapleton about transferring to Florida. Good job, Tommy!!!!
Do the restrictions expire after 1 year?
I really like Stapleton. I suppose it is possible that he will stay given the restrictions, but I wouldn't want him to stay if he is not going to be a happy camper.
Bye!
After reading the double negative in his quote I couldn't read the rest...
Hope he gets where he is going.
