Mrs. Champ's dad (Mike, whom many of yall have met at our tailgate) had bad stroke the other day. The little hospital in Homer had him airlifted to West Jeff in Marrero, where we are sitting with him in ICU.
We believe strongly in miracles, of course. But short of that, it doesn't appear he will be able to live independently again.
Any prayers, happy thoughts, and encouraging words are much appreciated.
Sorry to hear. Have personally witnessed miracles. Will pray for one for your family.

We had some promising improvements late last night. Hope to get him moved out of ICU today. Then maybe we can work on getting him to an inpatient rehab in N.La.

For long term acute care all (Cornerstone, Lifecare, Promise) are good. For inpatient rehab Minden is good. I think Pathway is good. For skilled nursing I like Town and Country/Weston Place in Minden.

nm ... I found it.
There's a bed waiting for Mike at the Schumpert rehab facility in Shreveport.
But the cost of transporting him there by ambulance is ... alarming.
Will pray for productive rehab and safe transport.
If y'all need anything while you're up this way, just let me know.
