    Health Insurance

Nothing like a 38% increase for 2015. My insurance is now over 1150 a month. I guess that's affordable.

Around 20% here in La with BCBS. Higher with some other carriers.

I had affordable coverage, but that plan is no longer approved by Obama and the idiot democrats, so I'm getting an approximate $300/mo increase individually.

Of course his voting base, the intellectually and national/world events challenged, wont have an insurance premium increase worth mentioning.

You are telling me. As an insurance agent, my personal opinion of the Affordable Healthcare Act is that its the biggest load of crap since Bill Clinton told us he did not sleep with that woman. Before it we paid an average of $150 to $180 per person. I'm paying $337 now. All so I can tote the load for people that don't work.

Sorry to hear everyone else is getting hammered also. They base rates on zip code, so if you live in a crappy zip, you don't pay nearly as much. Do any of you qualify for the subsidy?

I would have been happy if all they did was increase medicaid to people that can't afford insurance. People get healthcare even without insurance. Hopefully Roberts will kill Obamacare when the subsidies are denied to people in states on the federal exchange.

All I know is it's not worth the trouble to write a policy. If all goes PERFECT and agent can write a subsidized plan in around one hour. It rarely goes even good, much less PERFECT. It usually takes 2 sessions in two different days and up to 3 hours total. I can make more money than that raking leaves.

Are these per month increase or per paycheck? Your actual costs? Family or individual cost?

Knowing him, I believe Sooner's was an individual family plan and "that be the monthy". Based on how much it went up, it looks like he may have had an issue with his old plan not being grand fathered. I've seen several family plans similar to his.

I've heard talk that many big companies are going to move to "high deductible HSA's." That's basically you funding your own health care (with a small contribution from the company to help), until you hit about $8 to 10,000 out of pocket, then the company will cover the rest. If you are healthy, that's fine. If you have a few prescription drugs, you will hit that every year.

No. You get a better bump up front but little to no residuals. It's like selling cars. I hate it.
