The larger point hidden here is UL-L is accomplishing less with more. Just speaks even more to Tech being more intelligent and getting more bang for every buck.
Paul Myerburg weighs in.
Louisiana Tech University
Flagship of the University of Louisiana System
I think he's saying we have had less money, but have had better football and basketball. (more bang for our buck)
Exactly! Improvements in our baseball, softball, soccer, and basketball facilities. A south end zone project that will be complete by game 1 of this year. More consistent and growing attendance in most every sport. All with half the money, 1/4 the student population, and 10% of the resident population of little brother.
Basketball ratings in the past 5 years (using Sagarin because it's easy)
Tech - ULL
2010: 247 - 231
2011: 196 - 208
2012: 84 - 227 (WAC champs)
2013: 32 - 115 (CUSA champs- SBC tourney champs)
2014: 74 - 124 (CUSA champs)
What a bunch of crappola to constantly have posts edited, deleted, etc. that does not happen on other sites, and speaks volumes of THE LaTech fan base.
Whew: 'accomplishing less with more.' That is some kind of statement, and that would indeed be very well 'hidden' to non-ltu folks indeed. How can you can be accomplishing more, if the bottom line clearly disputes that? Your tickets sales/contributions were significantly down from last year. And that also doesn't square with all the numerous posts here about how 'n. La is becoming bulldog country,' all the ltu gear you guys see everywhere (while there is never any Cajuns gear, lol), etc., etc. It is very clear that is not happening: if folks were buying gear, giving money to ltac, buying ad space, etc., that would be reflective in the numbers. It most definetly is not. And if they were going to your games your attendance numbers would reflect that as well. They also must definetly do not.
Omg. 1). We are finishing up phase 1 of the master plan: First part of CF improvements, band new APC, comlete overhaul of the T & F (do y'all even have bleachers?), $20 million reno of the CD. 2). Phase 2 of master plan scheduled to start this year ($10 million reno of the Tigue, $55 million for CF, etc.)More consistent and growing attendance????? Did you really type that with a straight face? For FB we were 17th of all G5's, ltu was 33rd (but you did edge out your s. Ark sister school as ULM was 39th). For baseball we rank in the top ten NATIONALLY......including schools much larger than us, so we are the ones who can realistically claim to be outdoing the bigger guys. Same story with softball. The only thing consistent about the difference between our facilities and attendance is that we blow you out of the water for both. And again: why is it you guys always play the pity card about how small ltu is.....but then are also always bragging about being the flagship of n. La, how large your fan base is, how well they travel etc. it's embarrassing, truly. But nothing is more embarrassing than calling us your little brother......that's embarrassing and also kind of psychotic.
Little sister, not little brother.
Stop feeding the troll.
Thank you for adding that: I was remiss in leaving that part out. Yes, we have done all these tremendous things in just four short years, and all the while we were in the Sun Belt. That makes the accomplishments, and our story, even more impressive, which will no doubt aid us as we continue to grow.
