Honestly I think Vernon Butler has the highest NFL potential. RBs are just too much of a dime a dozen in the game these days.
No argument here. I think Barnes, Butler, and Dixon are all viable draft prospects though. Butler has as much preseason hype as D'Anthony did going into his senior season. I don't remember us ever getting a corner drafted before Barnes. Dixon will likely go out as the greatest rb in Tech history.Originally Posted by Dubya261

IMO, if Butler has a good year, he is a 2nd-3rd round pick. He has all of the tools needed to play on Sundays. I hope he stays injury free.

Ive been let down too many times to play this game.
It's a very tough thing to get drafted. I think Kenneth and Vernon are no doubts because of their size, college productivity, and they've been a "name" for a couple years now.
It will be tough for everybody else most likely, just because it's tough for most everybody. All good players, but there are tons of good players every year that end up as UDFA's. That's just the nature of the beast.
We had a great team in 2012 and only had 2 get drafted and there was a Super Bowl champion on that roster that went undrafted. Hopefully they all get drafted and we set a record for most ever though!
The reason I add Barnes to the list is because I think he'll get a chance at the combine. Once there, he's so dang fast and athletic that his measurables will get him drafted.

If Brice has another good year like last year, he'll be a certain NFL pick. Hard hitter, who can tackle.

In the offense that Louisiana Tech runs, he’s often running the ball on option plays or from extremely deep in the backfield in pistol formations. Because of that, he has to have patience as a runner but also to be able to read where the blocks are going to be set up really quickly.

Now that the season has played out, I've adjusted my predictions.
Butler will go late first or early second.
Dixon will go in the 3rd or 4th round.
Driskel will be drafted, I'm not sure when. There's a possibility of him gaining momentum in the postseason.
Barnes will be signed, but maybe not drafted.

I don't see Butler above a 3rd round pick and probably later. Not a nock on Butler at all but there's a lot of good DT's this year.
Agree about Dixon. He will be a good 3rd down back if he can stay healthy.
Driskell will probably go in the later rounds. I really think he has the physical attributes to be a good one. Would love to see him go to the Saints to learn from Brees.
I can't see Barnes getting drafted, but I think he will more than likely get picked up UFA.
