Dixon could easily go in the 2nd round, and depending on team needs, I could see someone taking a shot at him with a late 1st round pick to keep someone else from getting him. He's ranked 3rd among RBs behind Elliot and Henry by pretty much everyone, and while he may not be the best at any single category, he scores well in all of them. He's the definition of an all-purpose back.
The only thing working against Butler is the depth at his position in this draft. The Combine will be his time to shine and move up the boards. I'd say 3rd round is his floor at this point with a really solid chance to move up into round 2.
Driskel is most likely going to go in round 6 or 7. He has the measurables and is a high character guy, but teams are going to see him as a project. I think he's best suited with a team that has a good, but aging, veteran QB (Patriots, Saints if they keep Brees, etc.) that he can learn from for a few years and then compete to take over the reins. In the right situation with the right coaching, he could do well, but it's probably going to take some time.
I don't get the idea that Driskel is a project at all. He looks like a pro to me. He's smart, he's level-headed, he's sound in technique, and he's a stud of an athlete. What players in this year's draft are better than him?

You took one word out of my whole post and ignored the rest. I already said he has all of the measurables and is a high character guy, but he's only had one good college season (who takes the blame for all of that is for a whole other discussion). He has some consistency issues (we saw that a lot with his deep ball) and doesn't do a very good job of looking-off defenders. He struggles making all of his reads at times. He stares down his receiver too often. And as much as I hate to say it, the NFL scouts are going to say he could only get it done against "lesser competition" regardless of what you and I think about it.
Does he have the talent? Absolutely. He's easily a top 5, maybe top 3, QB based on talent alone, but most teams are drafting guys (especially in the early rounds) based on what they've already seen and what they can do today, not just what they can project a few years from now. A strong showing at the Senior Bowl and the Combine can really help him out and probably move him up into the earlier rounds, but if the draft were today, I think you'd be disappointed.
You also have to look at team needs. How many teams need to use a high pick on a QB? Once the top-tier is gone, it's usually a while before any more QBs are taken. Maybe a team takes a flier on him earlier than most expect and he winds up in a good situation. We'll just have to see where the chips fall.
I would love to look at this through my red and blue tinted glasses and say he goes in the first round, but I'm trying to be realistic.
No, I didn't. You chose the word and used it as the definitive term of your evaluation.
I don't think he stares down receivers (int/td ratio). I don't think he struggles with reads (variety of targeted receivers). Some may say lesser competition but that would imply lesser supporting cast--so it's a wash. He looked like a guy who had led our offense for 4 years out there this season.
What qb's do you grade higher than him? Not suggesting he's the best, but I'm interested on your read of this year's qbs.

Driskel is rated 13th by this list:

probably early third round-- ranked top 100 on most scout site-- see what happens. Much has been said about devaluation on RBs but not much about backs who can catch and block. In my mind that is what separates KD from RBs--hell of a blocker and made many a spectacular catch.
Not even rated on this board...
