Thought this was interesting. Vegas has come out with a few lines for future Tech football games And props.
Louisiana Tech wins conference championship: +265

The win total doesn't include conference championship and bowl game.

I'm a little surprised at the 40 point spread for the Southern game. I'd have to see the over/under for that game before moving on it.
Im not a gambler and my own models dont handle cross-divisional games, but I have Tech at #24 and Southern at #81 in their respective divisions, so it makes sense to me.
Yeah, that does make sense. Maybe I'm just too familiar with how poorly Tech teams have historically played FCS opponents.
I hope we do the same thing to them this year that we did last year!

Me too. Our team will be better. Their team worse. They get 6 for home field, but that's not enough to make up for they ass kicking that will resume.
Lines are all hype. And WKU is getting ALLL the hype with super-senior Doughty.
In all honesty though:
1. Doughty probably had a little of an off day in Ruston last year. He IS really good, normally.
2. Our defense may have also been a little better than normal.
3. WKU's defense is probably improved at least a little bit.
I could see this being a 10 point game in 2015.
Besides Sagarin, the lines are the only thing not "hype". I will say they are normally off a bit early in the year.
1. Our DC was allowed to expose Doughty for his weakness. It worked and not because he had a bad day.
2. Our defense played as well as they did vs. Western all year.
3. Western's defense is probably improved? Our offense will be improved, so we have the edge there.
I think Doughty/WKU didn't see a defense as good as ours all year; once he got shaken up he couldn't regain his composure.
When a great offense meets a great defense the defense almost always gives the offense a big plate of humble pie.
Holtz said they (our coaches) saw some problems with their protections last year (on film) and we attacked it effectively in the game. I remember not being very impressed with their receivers against our DBs too. They also didn't look very fast or physical on defense. Like Dogswin, I like going into the game with the better defense. I don't expect 59-10, but I think we win this one if we play well.
Good post. Glad someone brought up our DBs against their receivers. Really, our entire back 7 played a monster game. We made good tackles, didn't allow a lot of YAC, and swarmed to the ball the entire game. WKU receivers kill opponents if and when they get in space by making you miss tackles. We didn't allow any of that last year. 4 INTs and holding Case Keenum Jr. to only 145 yds passing was just the cherry on top of that 59-10 sundae.

We talked about this football game and the challenges we had on defense, that this was an offense that was averaging 550 yards a game, 410 yards a game passing, scoring 40 some points, 53%, third down. The numbers are video game type numbers. We threw them out in front of our team and said, This is the challenge we have, but they still have to play us. They put up these numbers against everybody else, but we just have to go out there and play our game. I thought our defense was physical. I thought Coach Diaz, Coach Giles, Coach Baker, Coach Bradford put together an unbelievable game plan.
Coach Diaz told me he felt like they had some flaws in their protection that he felt we could exploit. Was able to do so tonight. And I think it made a huge difference when they couldn't go to their drop back game and take advantage of it.
