Let's be clear. LaTech has zero to do with our radio network. They sold those rights to Learfield. Ellenburger led the way in collecting dots (weak stations) in order to fool his employer into thinking he was doing his job. A couple of other things caught up with him and he moved on. Then Learfield brought in a guy who must have believed the guy ahead of him was on the up and up. Our fans in NW La deserve an OTA station.
What stations in Shreveport are not weak? KRMD Fm used to be one of the more popular country stations.
It would not be a huge issue if they would change the stupid rule about blacking out the red peach app. Its ridiculous that it needs to be blacked out. It should be able to be streamed from anywhere via the app.
They did do that for us during basketball and baseball seasons. There were a few glitches, but most of the mess ups were because the guy at the radio station did not flip the switch. Hopefully they will also do it for football as they have indicated.Originally Posted by SteveyTI

Or is this not even the same station? It is listed here as 101.1 FM. Our press released identified KRMD FM as being 100.7.

I believe last year it was the small watt deal. It is confusing, but again, Learfield is about dots not good coverage.
OK, so it is REALLY "K264AS", a low-power FM station which lists a range of 1.8 miles. It is owned by KRMD, but for someone to say that it is KRMD FM is a ridiculously misleading statement. That low power station is called Sports Talk 100.7. It is not called KRMD FM.
The real KRMD FM has a booming signal.

We should be done with them by 2019. Probably will be shopping in 2018.
Learfeild's Tech connections have been doing this since day one. They have consistently advertised as having games and coaches shows on the air that were not. This was pointed out to our AD very early in his Tech career. He checked with the Learfield rep and believed him instead of what could be actually proven over many times. Although it is not our AD's job to get us on the radio, he does not seemed concerned about the lack of coverage.
Without looking it up, didn't we redo the deal when the new video board was installed in the TAC?
Not sure, can't find any document on the internet that indicates any extension to the contract after installing Paul Millsap Vision.
Embarrassing. That's what it is. If we can't get a station licensed to SBC, what about a big station in East Texas that covers SBC? What about 105.7 in Longview?
I'm really surprised that some people are upset with the radio coverage now, and no one cared when A 100,000 watt station was dropped for a 5000 watt station.
Is net radio a viable option?
OK, I had to come to Shreveport for a lunch board meeting and I put my radio on 100.7. I began getting a decent signal between Minden and Haughton. By Haughton it was very clear. All the way out to East 70th near Youree I had a very good signal. So it is much better than thought it would be.
