Good points. This year should be another year like 2012. The rare two years in a row chance to grow

I see my North Louisiana buddies trying to embrace it and it is laughable. I hear them say, "Tigahs" instead of "Tigers." Spell "go" as "geaux," etc. Just a different culture below Alexandria. Not that either is right or wrong, just different. North Louisiana is much more like East Texas, S. Arkansas, and North Mississippi from a cultural standpoint. And that's why they don't claim us a "true Louisianians."
This is always an interesting topic to me. I've lived in Texas ( the good part ) for almost 30 years. I learned long ago to answer the question "where are you from?" with North Louisiana. Answering it just Louisiana elicits the tired responses of "so you are cajun?, how about them tigers?, do you eat gator?, etc etc".

Same here but for 46 years. Plus I have to explain that I'm from Coushatta which is no where near the Casino in Kinder. I did live in S. Louisiana (Luling) for one summer so I learned to eat red beans and rice with andouille sausage, gumbo etc. I'm still not too big on boiled crawfish (boiled shrimp for that matter). Prefer the crawfish fried or in etouffe and shrimp fried or stuffed.

I had a fraternity brother at Tech from Shreveport that received a letter addressed "Shreveport, Texas". He then moved to Houston and was checking the weather report one morning and saw under the heading "other Texas cities" Shreveport's weather. It all very confusing.

Had a dream (perhaps a nightmare) last night that kept repeating the puppy dog logo is taking over the persona of the football team and all future players will be as menacing as that stinking logo.

    Doing this to Louisiana Tech

is the equivalent to doing this to Mickey Mouse.

I recently came back from Disneyworld and there is a place called Disney WonderGround that is selling artwork like the above.

It's certainly taken over the basketball team. Exclusively the puppy head.

At least they finally ran out of the helmet stickers somebody had ordered. Hoping the flag stickers are used up now too.
