I noticed that Skip mentioned Alfred when saying he under signed prospects so he could pick up people like Houston Bates, Cody Sokol, etc. I see where Alfred signed with Utah. Did I miss some mention of him in BBB? Can someone enlighten me as so what happened that got him to the Dawgs? I can't find anything on the web that sheds some light on this. With his credentials, I'm glad he's on the team.
Thanks Sportdawg! The article says he won't be available until 2016. Would seem to say he would only have 3 years of eligibility but the roster lists him as a Freshman? Glad to have him!

Alfred Smith will have 5 years beginning this year to play 4. He was a 2015 graduate and attended summer school at Utah so, he has to sit out this year as a true freshman. Jerrell Jackson was a true freshman at Hawaii and played in 3 games. He has 4 years to play 3.
I believe he was a 2014 grad and played at Hawaii as a freshman last year. He still has 4 to play 3.

Jarrell is applying for a hardship because his baby dtr is here and he needs to be closer to help support her. He may get to play this year but as correctly stated...if not he has 4 to play 3.
Based on watching Alfred Smith in every workout to date, he is going to be a very special receiver for us. He looks like he has been here for years--very quick and fast with outstanding receiving skills. I am so glad we picked him up!
I watched hudl highlights of Smith and wow. He runs like KD after the catch. Fast and hard to bring down.
