Hey you could just confuse people and put up a billboard down here near San Antonio...
I've noticed that the billboards along I-20 (at least in the Shreve/BC area) have not been changed in what seems like an eternity. The "Ever Loyal Be" is basically illegible unless you already know what it says. No one pays attention to signage that has been up that long and if you're passing through for the first time, you can't read it. Does anyone know who's responsible for this? Seems like a waste of money if we aren't going to keep fresh promotions out there for people to see.

well the ULM folks are excited about a fishing tournament championship and a skiing championship made up of Swedish skiers -- okay, I find that humorous ---
This situation is generally caused by the billboard company not having a replacement contract to replace our Tech sign. In my retailer days, we had a billboard sign up at LBJ and Central in Dallas for a summer advertisement. The sign remained up into November when they replaced it. Lamar sent a supplemental invoice at a discounted amount, we said thanks but not thanks.
The sign has never be readable. I've commented on that to my family ever since they went up in the SBC. Like KBM86 posted, the only way to know what the billboard shows, is to know what it's supposed to show.
There is way too much going on the billboard and the "Ever Loyal Be" is just a faint white outline, IIRC.
The university marketing office did these just 3 years ago to go along with a very simple grassroots PR campaign by the University throughtout our region . . . complete with yard signs.
VERY IMPACTFUL.
VERY SIMPLE, QUICK MESSAGE.
VERY SUCCESSFUL.
