"Negative atmosphere" drove ULM golf coach out

ďI went there to retire basically,Ē Williams said. ďI loved my team and I loved working for [ULM athletic director] Brian [Wickstrom]. Heís trying to up the profile of ULM but I just donít think the university cares about athletics. Obviously, I donít know the priorities of everyone in the administration, but athletes seemed like just a necessary evil to them."

ďMost of the places Iíve worked at everyone has been a team but Iíve never worked in a place so negative. Iíve been coaching for 25 years and Iím not going to stay in a job I donít enjoy.Ē

His family visited our church a few times recently, seemed like a nice guy. Little cousin was friends with his daughter. Sorry to hear it just on his behalf, hope he can find something good.
