The last situation I can recall that was anywhere close to this was Arkansas firing Bobby Petrino in April 2012 after his scandal broke.

Sounds familiar. Ours was "you can't get a drink of water until I see blood!" Apparently, he meant the other guy.

Is he from up that way? I would expect Illinois will promote from within, however. It would be quite funny if @ Lafayette's HC ran out on them this week. Couldn't happen to a better bunch. On the other hand, it would give them an excuse when Tech slices their pepper in October. That and those pesky 6 plays.

I expect they will have to wait until the end of the season to get a new coach. I wouldn't want a coach that would quit on his team at this point. Even if there was an unemployed coach available he would just screw things up right now.

I hope they (Illinois) don't go after Skip. We are fortunate to have him IMHO.
