    Here's the numbers comparing Marshall:

Marshall (Johnson & Butler) 2,565 yards total 8.02 yards per carry avg.
Louisiana Tech (Dixon & Craft) 1,593 yards total 4.34 yards per carry avg.

Since you asked about LSU, McGee, as the team's no. 2 running back, put up a very respectable 571 yards. This is with sharing ball carrying duties with both Hilliard and Williams who had 447 and 302 yards respectively.
Butler (Marshall RB) is gone; LSU's McGee graduated. So they have no bearing on the 2015 ranking. But, I get your point, in the case of those two teams, the 2nd RB puts up significantly better numbers than our #2, Craft, did in 2014

...and to be fair to the no. 2 running back on any team, a lot of his yardage depends on if the head coach wants to feature just one running back or share the load with two (or more) of them.

Whether Marshall, WKU, or Tech has the BETTER unit is not the point. The point is: if Marshall and WKU make a top 35 list, in what world does Tech not? They're certainly not 10 units higher than Tech as their 25/26 ranking and Tech's non-ranking suggests.

I believe it goes back to a lack of respect for Dixon. The rushing totals don't give the whole picture either. Dixon is a rb that does more than rush, he also catches passes out of the backfield (and then RUNS for touchdowns) along with doing a remarkable job of pass protection. These variables should be included when evaluating running backs.
    Have you considered those Dogs?

Dixon needs to stay healthy and have the kind of season he is capable of. (don't end sentences in a preposition)

He had an AWESOME freshman year and two lackluster years since. Do, in large part, to nagging injuries. Now, as a senior, it is time to really break out and be the GREAT RB we all know he is.

Start tonite with 200+ yards and 3 TD's. (all in 2 1/2 quarters, being pulled after we build a huge lead.)
