That's some age bias speaking lol. I don't like most modern music, but there are definitely some great songs out there from the past 10 years. ( I prefer early 70's to early 80s era music myself.)
Dittos! And for you guys that always "rag" on Our Band every damn chance you get, send significant enough money so they can expand in size and then maybe your financial gift could allow you some input in possible performance options. What are SEC school bands noted for besides size and loudness? Do they entertain with precision marching like the Aggies Band. Do they copy style of Grambling or Southern? Once upon a time, half time shows by college bands were viewed on TV, not a bunch of damn talking heads talking game to death.
They could play Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus for all I care, just stop playing the Sports Center theme every 30 seconds.
But, but everyone must pay homage to the mother ship. No one would have a football program if not for them.

The BOP is what it is. We are not a music school. The BOPpers do a great job. They are spirited, dedicated, and enthusiastic.
Just wish we'd get another PA person....

I have an idea for the band. When a play is under review and the ref puts his head under the camera hood, play that little jingle from Jeopardy when they write their answers.
No amount of money will make our band any better. Time for new leadership. Used to be plenty of engineers in the band ......on scholarship, and registering first session was a great incentive.
