Depends. If things go really well in the first half, and I think they will, I can see letting off the gas with the 3rd string.

We come out guns blazing, wanting to show WKU that we'll be ready to rumble with them in Week 2. However, some garbage time scoring by SU with most of our starters on the bench for the 4th quarter takes away from how dominant our defense really is for the first 3 quarters. We still get 2 scores with Higgins and the backups on offense in the 4th.

I am going 42 - 3 at half an 70 - 10 final. We need to destroy Southern after the debacle of last year. Don't ease up even after they quit. I wouldn't pull the first string until Tech has a 50 point lead. I would run Dixon and Driskel until they both have over 200 yards. Then I would consider putting in the second string. I like that Holtz didn't call off the dogs against Rice last year and he will continue that trend.

I would Donald Trump them. No prisoners.

I disagree with that. If we get a big lead, we need to play our depth for experience. We are very young behind the ones, especially on defense.

I admit I don't know anything about Southern except their final scores from last year, so I'll say 45-20.

Over the last 15 years, Tech has faced FCS teams 10 times and won eight. But only three of those wins were by 3TDs or more. The rest were downright dull, save for the 2011 escape from UCA.

I dont think the Jags will pull off the upset, but history indicates this game is likely to be a stinker, with Tech winning comfortably, but not decisively, by a 13-20 point margin.

Most important thing is for the Dawgs to take this game seriously, and come out on a mission. Don't need to wussy-foot around, commit stupid turnovers, lose focus, etc...

I think it'll be a lackluster game, on the field, but Dawgs win 35-13.

Off the field stuff will be great. Huge crowd, lots of excitement.

I'd be ok with running up the score on them if we weren't playing one of the conference favorites 5 days later. I say get a 3 touchdown lead by mid 3rd quarter at the latest and then sit the starters.
