He seems like one of the coaches that have been around the business long enough that he could be happy being here for a while and really building something. That being said when the big money comes calling and it will if this thing keeps building, you can't begrudge someone the opportunity/challenge.

Still don't know what to think about the guy. Was convinced he would wreck the program after his first year. 180 last year. We appear to be in good shape this year (don't know what will happen tonight). With his current situation, I can see him riding it out here for 4 more years. At the same time, I can see him wanting a shot at redemption at a "big time" school. We've looked pretty big time lately though.

After Northwestern I wanted him gone before the fireworks ended. Since that time, I think he has earned a lot more respect- I would hate to see him go now, regardless of how the game goes tonight. I do believe he is building a program the right way.

I was on that boat myself, but actually, am not sure that I still want that ride. Until he can get a good qb that has more than 1 year of eligibilty, I'll be waiting in the disembarking line.

I get the impression that Holtz can win at places like LA Tech and ECU, G5s with good recruiting grounds nearby and a chip on their shoulder. He can sell the underdog and early playing time angles pretty well, IMO. It's tougher for him to win elsewhere, because of who you're trying to recruit.

Win or lose, Skip appears to be a quality guy and a first-class human being.

Skip can win anywhere. USF was a dumpster fire from the get go. BJ Daniels was a terrible QB but was super athletic and showed flashes so he stayed with him. He may or may not should have done that, but that is the reason they were bad. He is building depth here that we have never seen before and it is showing up at all positions. Im not a huge fan of Price Wilson but from what I saw Saturday night the kid can sling it. Next year if we can hang on to Wudtee in this years recruiting class then we will have 4 very good candidates to start at QB. He has used one year guys because he wanted QBs that were seasoned and had been in college football for a while. He did Higgins a favor and Higgins has improved tremendously from what he was as a freshman.

Holtz is good to his players and keeps things in real life perspective. Not surprising he is getting super stars to come to Tech to play for him. I was not sure hiring a celebrity coach was the right way to go but Coach Holtz seems like he is on a different level. I appreciate what he is doing.
