I dunno on this one. Summitt and Smith are part of the Lady Techster staff, rather than in addition to. Logic has a claim that "is" is correct.
But I'll defer to Bill Clinton on the meaning, usage, and nuances of is.

Surprised she isn't playing more. Is she hurt or just not picking up the system quick enough? Anyone have any insight?
From the few times I've seen her play she hasn't seemed quite as comfortable on the court as the other freshmen. She looked a little lost at times and like she was having to think hard to remember what she was supposed to be doing. Could just be that it takes her a little longer to pick things up.
She is the weakest of the freshmen, but I think that coach Smith has faith in this kid getting it. She will continue to get playing time when she can, and hopefully next year she can be a factor. She's quick, but like you said, she's too much in her head at this point.
