Like the Joe...don't form your opinion until you see it in person. I have not yet seen a pic...including the 30 or so I've taken on two separate occasions...remotely do it justice. It's gorgeous.

Plus it cost the school $0...it was donated by a lover of Louisiana Tech. This is big for the program.

Love the new field. It was muuuuch needed.
Having logged many hours of field maintenance at the Love Shack, I would bet the current players are very happy about the new turf.
I would think a more consistent playing surface should lead to less fielding errors and thus a better product.
Question: Is sliding into bases on turf much different than sliding on dirt? Rug burns (labg)? The major league fields I have seen have turf "grass" and dirt infields.
A little lagniappe: lower uniform cleaning bills.
It's shredded rubber that kicks up. It's the same field turf currently used on football fields. Old school astroturf has been obsolete for years.
I was surprised that the infields have no dirt around the bases. I would think the head-first slide will be used less.
What happens to the commercial grade mowing equipment donated last year?
