    Governor Candidates at UL-L Game

Heard Vitter was at the game yesterday.

Angelle walked up and surprised me while I was taking some sausage off the grill. Typical chit chat and he said he likes the atmosphere around Tech / has been up here a few times. Then he said (and this was hard for me to keep a straight face), "Obviously LSU is the flagship school, but I've always considered Tech and UL to be the State's second tier."

Wow. And he was actually trying to get votes or chase them away.

Typical LaLaff grad. Just what we need, another cajun calling the shots.

I kind of felt sorry for him. Met him while he was Secretary of DNR and he is a really nice guy. I was just shocked that him and his staff were that oblivious. I know we aren't exactly Auburn, but can you imagine a candidate going to an Auburn game and telling people Alabama is the flagship school?!

Unfortunately that is the perception many of our own grads, and I believe, our past president gave in to. I know of many Tech grads who were in BR last night because tickets were free.

What we witnessed yesterday with the former letter winners is something we've needed to do for YEARS. Dr. Guice gets it. It will take time to dig out of the D.R. hole.

From what I heard from some DNR people in our office building, Angelle is arrogant and an ass. Basically, voting for Angelle would be like voting for a third term of Bobby Jindal.

I was already leaning heavily against Scott Angelle. This sealed it for me.

BTW, David Vitter was also at the game last night. He came by the NW Louisiana TAG tailgate area about 40 minutes or so before the game started. He was also part of the ceremony at the end of the first quarter honoring the Veteran of the Game on the field.

Yes on all accounts. He will not get my vote.

It would have been nice to introduce each former player by his name, the position he played and the years he played. And to keep the numbers manageable, they could introduce players from the 1970's one week, the 1980's the next, the 1990's the next, etc.... I was surprised at how many former players were there. Good turnout.

True. It couldn't have all been done at halftime, since there were too many to mention in such a short period of time. But they were all there for a game against one of their "old rivals" in Lafayette, particularly the former players from the 1950s through the 1990s.
