I don't like that our kicker is #10 nationally in points. This equals Red Zone struggles.

Jonathan Barnes has been named the @CUSAFB Special Teams Player of the Week for the second consecutive week #WeAreLATech
Congratulations, Jonathan!!
I am glad Holtz made a decision on kicker. JB is doing great right now.
Warming up before the 2nd half, Barnes was nailing it from 52. Holtz made the right call to pin them deep in the 4th, but Barnes probably would have made that 51 yarder especially in the dome.
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
Louisiana Tech redshirt sophomore Jonathan Barnes was honored by the Conference USA office as he was named the league’s Special Teams Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Barnes has made 28 points on XP and 12 points on FG's outside the red zone (total of 40 points) and 9 FG's which in the red zone (total of 27 points). Whose head is in the sand? Now I don't have how many times we have been in the red zone but 9 FGs in 6 games while more than we would like, doesn't seem excessive. We've scored 28 TD's, but of course some were long runs or passes from outside the red zone.
Our offense is #14 in scoring. Put down the crack pipe. We are scoring a plethora of ways (labg).
My comment was never about Barnes' kicking performance, so quit changing the issue. Barnes has done great so far this year, and nobody needs your disclosures to know that.
I've said many times this season that THIS TECH team hasn't learned how to score touchdowns in the red zone yet. And more specifically, when Hermandawg suggested that this team is struggling in the red zone, you responded by saying "Not necessarily". Hence you got a well-deserved Head in the Sand greeting, which was well earned.
We have 15 TDs in 26 Red zone opportunities this year
