It's time to close the doors to the Temple of Janus.
Thanks for playing...
Four shows that make my Top 10, probably my Top 5 (but need to think this thru more) are:
1. The Wild Wild West (has the #1 slot locked up)
and Star Trek, original; Star Trek: Next Gen; and MASH.
So, I agree with JuBru that Next Generation is high on the list.
Need to think about this some more.
I can't argue with your picks. But, I did want to emphasize that my pick really is what I consider to be the best series I've seen on television. I even agree with the libertarian politicical slant.
It's time to close the doors to the Temple of Janus.
Not to be technical, but was Breaking Bad a TV series, or a mini-series? Wasn't it slated to last X number of episodes, and no more? Splitting hairs, I know.

#1 best TV Series should just be a person's favorite. I thought Wild Wild West was a bit campy for my taste (before there was camp - just a little better than Bat Man) although I watched it pretty regularly. Longest running in my memory was MASH. I believe it ran longer than Gun Smoke. We quit watching Gun Smoke when Chester left. My favorites were MASH and Star Trek (original). Whether they were the best is not important to me. A good one was COMBAT (the guy who played Sgt. Saunders died filming Twilight Zone Movie). No one mentioned RAW HIDE. Never missed it. There are some who think THE EDGE OF NIGHT and AS THE WORLD TURNS were great. Too, many for me to pick a no. 1 best - how about I Love Lucy, My Little Margie, Father Knows Best, Ozzie and Harriet or Our Miss Brooks. Not saying any one of those would be considered the "best" ever.
Anybody who doesn't think Andy Griffith is the best all time TV series is subject to be banned from THE BBB.
