Foun this...
"Maren is a combo guard who has excellent court vision and passing skills that often lead to easy baskets for teammates. Maren is always looking ahead in transition and has a great feel with her passes which allows her to complete many passes that other guards cannot. Maren is also an excellent passer in the half court and consistently finds cutters and makes entry passes into the post.
Maren has a nice release on her three point shot and is a good shooter off the pass. Maren is working to better utilize her legs and proper posture to improve her consistency off of cuts and off screens. Maren is able to penetrate through contact due to her strong frame and is a solid finisher at the rim with both hands due to her athletic"
There is a video on YouTube showing her making a 3 point shot from almost half court. I can't post it here with my phone.
It ain't braggin' if you can do it.
Maren is my granddaughter. Basketball has always been her favorite sport. She is a gifted young lady. Pretty much anything she does comes easy for her. Hopefully down the road she can contribute to both the Lady Techsters Basketball and Soccer teams.
When she made that shot, her reaction was like she made that shot all the time.
Glad to have her Grandpa. She will get some real good coaching over the next few years.
We are so happy this amazing coaching staff is giving her this opportunity.
I didn't realize she is from Franklin, TN. I visited Franklin last week while on vacation in Nashville.
If she's a soccer player her conditioning SHOULD be excellent. I know when I was in "soccer shape" I could do anything, like play 40 mins of hoops without hardly breaking a sweat. An entire basketball court fits into one goalie box with room to spare.
Just rolled into South Padre Island, TX after an 11 hr. drive. What a ballgame last night!! Way to go LADY TECHSTERS! We didn't finish the 2nd and 3rd quarters very well or it may have been a 30 point or more margin. I thought the officials really took our momentum away when we didn't get to shoot our second free throw and they got possession after we did shoot it (still not sure that was correct). What a class act Coach Summit was when he put Maren in at the end of the game. PaPa got a little teary eyed. We are so grateful she has been given this opportunity to play with the Lady Techsters. We hope to make it back down in March and catch a couple of games. Play hard and play smart Ladies!!
