Best way to handle it is the way most every sporting event is managed- just do not allow anyone with an umbrella to enter the stadium.
Yeah, that goes back to the "selective enforcement" rule by our bozo game day staff. A staff, who apparently reads THE BBB, and feels the need to remind the few fans who plan on attending not to bring in umbrellas are large tote bags that could have adult beverages inside.
Somebody needs to meet with the AD and give him a good dose of common sense. If this guy keeps his job for two more years, at least half of the most loyal fans will be run off. I hope some other school thinks he's doing a great job at Tech and hires him. Everything he touches he screws up. This is not Nazi Germany in 1940, it's an empty football stadium where a few fans show up in a rainstorm. If there's no one sitting behind you, does your umbrella interfere with no one?
Don't block anyone's view with your umbrella
I get the umbrella deal, don't like them at sporting events regardless of situation but you can't be selective
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
. I am big believer in common sense. Rather have 50-60 folks stay home because of rain doesn't really matter either way -- just some situations deserve flexibility and common sense. I have grandson coming today and what planet won't allow him under umbrella As Long as it does not interfere with others-- I've pretty well been selective about things my whole life-- we live in a world creating more and more "rules" for everything ... Kids can not say prayers before school begins in many places.. Ok, that's the extreme but ... Even for me that's a stupid example, comparing umbrellas to anto

Folks with 'brellas, who will remove themselves to the remote sections of the stadium, which such empty space should be easy to find on a day like this, is not a problem. Around me, I don't want my vision of the game blocked. That's it.
