GO Techsters!!!!!!!!!!!! We need Wingate to keep it going and the others to step up/wake up and play like they did to start the season! If we play flat again, we are in trouble.
A mature, championship team learns multiple ways to win games. We need to start tracking "how" this young team finds its wins as the season progresses.
Does anyone not expect Nicholls to press or run half-court traps against our point guards today? How about converging on the post and forcing us to hit shots from outside? If that's the case, we should have open shots from the corner.
I think Nicholls will be happy to let Wingate get her double-double if they can shut down our post and force turnovers at the point. Quick fix is to unleash that hot 3-point shooter we've been hiding, but we already know you can't count on that game-after-game.
Next chapter is today--plenty of book yet to be written. Just need to establish some character development before those final four chapters.

You are correct. Until we fix the outside shooting problem and turnover problem, they will let Wingate do her thing and stop everything else. I am sure they have figured that out from our last 3 games. I think our shooting will fix itself at some point - we DO have shooters. If we can start pressing and creating havoc on defense, the game will come to us. The shots are going to start falling again - I just hope it is soon! ;-)Originally Posted by BruisedOrange

It sounds like the turnover issues are continuing. 5-4 Nicholls State.
One more NSU run and Malcom may pack up and leave the gym. He sounds disgusted.
Lady Techsters win 58-55 after an ugly, ugly game. 20+ turnovers again and questionable defense. The next two games could be really bad if we don't get things under control and take care of the ball.
The uglies remain. Someone check the water supply up there in Ruston. Please.
All I can say is we made it out alive. Still a LOT of work to be done to get this team consistent.
Davenport with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Wingate 16 points and 7 rebounds. Only 2 points scored by the bench. 22 turnovers by Tech led to 27 points for Nicholls. We had the ball stolen away 17 times. Nice work from Wingate and Davenport but both finished the game with 4 fouls and apparently there's nothing on the bench to fill their spot on the court.
