Sonny probably told him that's the way to get a raise.

I think they got shot down after trying really hard to pry away a different Sonny (Cumbie) from TCU. Pretty sure he played at Texas Tech while Dykes was there.

He certainly appears to be throwing a Hail Mary. T-Scruff will either sink him or make him look like a genius.

He won't look like such a weirdo in Austin...or Berkley.

Strong doesn't have 2 years for T-scruff to implement the "system".

Yeah, but UT is loaded with alot of "athletes" (individual talent).

It's anybody's guess if they are smart enough to pick up the system quickly or not.

I was told years ago by a UT-Ex and one very much "in the know" that the famed Ham and Lam Jones of 2 decades ago couldn't even sign their own names nor read a single word.
I'm not sure if that is still going on down there but you never know.

Maybe so. But Charlie Strong's Horns still suck bad. They beat Baylor last week only because Baylor's 3rd string QB (no exaggeration) got hurt in the 1st quarter and there was no one left to take a snap. Baylor was literally down to 2 Wide Receivers playing QB for the rest of the game. Before Saturday, the 2 WR's rarely ever played for Baylor, but were inserted this time because they both had experience playing QB in high school.

It was that bad. In all my years of watching college football, I'd never seen anything like it.

Trailing 20-0 at halftime, Baylor coach Art Briles switched gears and implemented a completely different "Wildcat" offense with the 2 rarely used WR's alternating at QB in a "run only" offense. And it ALMOST worked! Baylor almost came back. But because there were no passes by Baylor (save for a couple of screens), the clock moved very quickly and Baylor ran out of time. UT hung on to win 23-17. UT knew they had gotten away with robbery.

UT and their athletic budget are even a bigger waste of taxpayer and alumni money than lspoo. They get nada for their $$. Now that is saying something.

I watched that game, as well. I thought Baylor was going to have to have QB try-outs at half time with the fans. It was a VERY unusual situation, yet Baylor still almost pulled it off.

The Texas Stronghorns! Any team that loses to that crapola bunch should be banned from a bowl, and should immediately fire their coach.

Ignore him. He's probably just looking for a way to blame Kim Mulkey.
