As the dismissal bell rang throughout the hallways of Thurgood Marshall Middle School on August 26, 2005, students scrambled down the stairs laughing and smiling, none realizing that would be the last time they would gather together. One of those students was seventh grader Stephan Crawford (pronounced ste-FAHN), currently a redshirt senior offensive lineman for the Bulldogs. The New Orleans native headed home for what seemed like another normal weekend. The rest of the city went about business as usual with few tracking the tropical storm making its way through South Florida.
