Bowl Attendance

Spent this weekend in Nola for LHSAA football state championships and will be back next weekend to watch the Dawgs beat A-State. Living in Lafayette I have to deal with the LSU and ULL types. Alot of smack talk about our bowl game and attendance. With that being said I believe we need to show up BIG & LOUD. WE need to be proud and happy to be there. I understand we want the best for our beloved alma mater but this has more positives to it than negatives. Iam just as proud as anyone to be a TECH grad but I also am humble and grounded. We have an amazing academic school but a middle or upper middle of the road athletic program all together. We are not an Alabama or Ohio State .....i want to be there one day too but I understand we are the "little guy" . I do see a bright future but we need to FULLY show support for this team, staff and school. That means show up to NOLA in full-force and be happy! Iam sick of hearing the negativity around this bowl, opponent and etc. Suck it up, put on your big boy pants and show up!! It's great to be a BULLDOG!

We are in this bowl because the team laid an egg vs. USM. So now, USM is in Dallas to play the Pac 10's Washington Huskies. That is all the team's doing.

As fans we can't control what the team does/doesn't do. All we can do is the "fandom" stuff, like show up and cheer as loudly as possible. I hope Tech Nation shows up in the Dome.

Okay, based on this disappointing news, I'll guesstimate 5K Tech fans in the Dome. Then KD will go off and score 6 TDs, set the all-time record for career TDs, and then, on this very board years from now EVERYONE will claim to have been there to witness it.

We should have at least as many as we did for Tulame. And the usual folks that stubbornly refuse to buy tickets through Tech, to get us an additional $5 - $25 , will be there and be walking up.

Contrary to popular belief on this board, our fanbase does have an apathy issue, see the general "sit on our hands" atmosphere at the Joe and our poor student involvement. There's no doubt that energy and apathy are contagious and that's where fans share in the responsibility.

Yeah, I don't get it. I'm much more concerned about the team showing up than the fans. i figure we'll have 10-15 K there.

I agree. The only time I bought tickets to a bowl game from Tech was for the 2008 Indy Bowl and the seats were way up in the NE corner upper deck.
