I hate to "go there" but....

Higgins hasn't shown me anything to think he's our guy. But, heck! if he is, and if he does a good job, fine. I don't care whose name is on the back of the jersey. I only care about results. I just hope Holtz doesn't feel he owes something to Higgins, and gives him the nod, just because he's been here and was a starter back in '13. The QB position is too important to be given as a gift. Ya know, I think Holtz will let the guys battle it out and "may the best one win." Guess we'll see.

I think it'll be between Smith and Wilson. Wilson certainly has a very strong arm, but he's had that since day one. If I were laying money down, I'd say it's Smith. Of course Holtz says it's Higgins's job to lose. This'll be the 3rd year he's said that (more or less).

i wasn't too optimistic about ross jenkins or colby cameron being the starter in their respective senior seasons, but they turned out to be pretty good. sometimes it takes a few years for a qb to develop. i hope higgins comes in this spring and surprises us all. he's got a good arm and decent accuracy ~50% of the time. if we can get him to settle down and reduce the number of times he throws it to the ground or the other team, he will be very good.

Wilson had some in mop up duty this year. No snaps for Smith.

Higgins has yet to prove that he can protect the football. Sokol did it well, and Driskel did it even better.

He's got a tough hill to climb to prove that to the staff.

I want Wilson. Then Smith....if higgins starts then he better turn in to Colby Cameron fast. I almost asked Colby one night if he was going to go as a QB for Halloween. He was in my Acct 201 class and studying in my apartment. I will admit i had no clue he would turn in to a NCAA record holder after that class.
