Would a Louisiana Tech-ULM football series benefit Louisiana Tech?

When discussing scheduling regional games, ULM is distinct from ULL, ASU, USA because we are not so directly competing with them for media attention and corporate dollars. If the Monroe market was able to 100% embrace Tech as their university I believe we'd be way ahead of where we currently are. It's my understanding, as it stands now a lot of corporate money and media attention is intentionally shared between Tech and ULM despite Tech's clear academic and athletic superiority.

I believe any game with that school further legitimizes the current state of sharing.

He has said many times that he believes separation has occurred. I'm sure he, like all media folks, would enjoy the material from a football series.

I'm not sure how much corporate sharing goes on locally. Outside of local restaurants Century, First National, CTB, and JPS are the only ones that stand out. We certainly come out ahead financially.

The point is Tech is getting less corporate money than it could because Monroe/West Monroe businesses feel compelled to support ULM. Advertising costs money so businesses choose to support neither ULM or Tech to avoid doubling their expense or alienating a few customers. It also makes it much easier to justify supporting LSU.

Come on Edwards, "Close NLU, Close NLU, Close NLU!" Or at least take away that their failed athletic Dept and teams. Do we hear Edwards whispering to put NLU under Tech in a merger yet? Do it, do it, do it.
