Not if you believe in the computer rankings. They are way down there, but ahead of Rice, UTSA, North Texas, Tulane, UCF, Ulm and a couple of others.
Sorry if discussed earlier in this thread, I can't find it. Is Homecoming the Nov 12th game against UTSA? It would be great if admins would put a HC in parenthesis besides the home game that is HC. Trying to plan reunion with many who will be traveling in from across country.
Correct. 11/12 is homecoming http://www.latechsports.com/sports/m...tbl-sched.html
The Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission is using the new hotel tax to bring an NBA preseason game to Bossier at the same time as our home football game vs. UTEP.
Home Game 1 (vs. MEAC, same time as Parkway-Lufkin at Indy Stadium)
Home Game 2 (same time as NBA Mavericks vs. Pelicans in Bossier)
Home Game 3 (Thursday night, same time as Captain Shreve-Parkway, OCS-Sterlington, Calvary-North Caddo, Huntington-Fair Park)
Not complaining about the HS games. Just illustrating conflicts that will take a few folks away from our game.
However, the NBA game during our UTEP game rubs me the wrong way. We were told to vote for the tax to bring in great events like the C-USA Tourney. But what do we get? An NBA game during 1 of our 5 home football games. This game on a Thursday night 2 years ago surprisingly drew 10.5K, including a lot of Tech folks like myself. The NBA game will undoubtedly take away a lot of the spotlight off of our game and steal some casual fans as well. This NBA game will be the 2nd biggest sporting event in Shreveport-Bossier this year behind only the Indy Bowl, and they scheduled it during 1 of our few home games. I'd like to attend both, but I'll proudly be at the Tech game.
