    I'll play...

ASN can dictate 11:00 football starts in October (I know they haven't yet) That cost us much more revenue than it makes us. We get almost nothing from the ASN contract with C-USA.

ASN can dictate 8:00 MBB starts on a Thursday. Not as costly.

First, what is a .2 or .3 station? I guess if you use a digital antenna instead of subscriber you might know what this is.

Second, how would they know if there was a demand if they don't do research. Dallas and Houston are full of Tech Alumni. Now of course the people in Ruston have no interest in Dallas and Houston getting live Tech telecasts. It might lower attendance and overnight stays. It's ok if Tech Alumni in Massachusetts or Virginia get live coverage. They're not coming anyway.

So does television games on ESPN, Fox or CBS sports lower attendance in the metroplex? Same deal only we would have a dedicated network for CUSA and others. It astonishes me how positives can be quickly turned into negatives on this board.

Look, we've been over this a thousand times, if the games were just CONSISTENTLY STREAMED ONLINE the problem would be solved. ASN could do whatever they wish or do not wish to do. At least then fans are given one option to see their team!

However, when the games aren't available in your area, nor are they streamed online YOU WILL NOT BE WATCHING THE GAME- PERIOD. If it gets broadcast in Timbucktoo, Idaho then great, but that does nothing for others.

Thousands of Tech fans/alumni in DFW, Houston,.. (many are LTAC donors and season ticket holders!) want to watch the game. Unless Louisiana Tech does SOMETHING to keep it's fan base (not just those living within 1 hour of Ruston) interested, then our fan base will die! It is not enough to say "Just listen online or drive to Ruston". Stream the friggin' games online!

It's a negative when we have an early fall game moved to an early kickoff with ANY network. Surely you don't think no money for moving a game to 11:00 is a good deal. There has to be a trade out. Just being on TV is not what it was 10 years ago.

Oh, and it's a discussion on a MESSAGE BOARD. Just because you don't agree or have not thought it through does not make it a negative. All our TV deals are crap, but the one with ASN is the worst.

Your viewing/fan base is built within 100 miles of the campus. When the local affiliates carry games (getting ad revenue), then their sports department is inclined to provide more coverage before and after.
    Everything else is gravy.

Glad to know that Tech doesn't need my (and other Tech alumni in Texas) LTAC contributions and season ticket purchases because we aren't "local", nor are we worthy of developing an online streaming solution such as ESPN3.

Don't get your feelings hurt. Just go ahead and prove me wrong. We are so far behind the local TV game.

Ok 100 mile radius fan base. I would like to compare the percentage of alumni living within that radius that come to games to the percentage of those outside the 100 mile radius. There are supposed to be thousands upon thousands of Tech alumni living in Shreveport. Where are they on game day? Watching LSU on TV I imagine. (I am thankful for those who do come.)

We are doing much better in NW La now. That's mostly due to a grass roots effort from TAG. Our admin won't even work with local media over there so we have to rely on grass roots.

"Critical Thinking" - the most overused words in the English language by people who WANT you to think they're smarter than they really are.

    Major League Football, Inc.
, a new, professional spring-football league scheduled to kick off in 2016, announced a Two-Year Television contract with American Sports Network, a division of Sinclair Networks Group, which is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. The deal includes broadcasting all regular season and post season games in both 2016 and 2017 for MLFB's new professional spring football league.
The two-year broadcasting deal between ASN and MLFB includes broadcasting all 40 Regular Season games and all Post Season games for Major League Football in 2016. In year two, with the anticipated expansion teams growing from eight to twelve franchises, ASN and MLFB will provide football fans with the ability to view every single regular season and post season game on multiple television outlets and digital media platforms for the next two MLFB seasons.
I'd never heard of MLFB until I saw this press release
