WOW! Lots of inside peeks in this article: how bad the atmosphere must have been for CTS's first season, Brandi's injury strewn path (both emotional and physical), and how Tyler dealt with a "project" player. That's something that was beyond his experience because his mom never recruited behavioral/attitudinal projects. The few who showed up in Knoxville with issues were usually on another team by the next season!
The truth is, both sisters were disabled, in different ways.
This is why I follow coaches as much as teams--coaches can effect lives in ways no one else can. You can understand why Tyler credits God with bringing them together. He would have never recruited someone with her behavior issues coming out of JC.
Thank you for an insightful article! Let's hope Brandi's growing maturity and discipline are rewarded on and off the court. These last two seasons could become a springboard into a lifetime of rewarding, positive influence.
Wow. Strong story. Things will come together for us.
God is good. He uses difficulty to humble us, and then we receive the blessings. Trouble is, it is so darn difficult to accept the humbling and stay there (IKFE).
Great story. Hoorah for Brandi, and ya gotta love Brittney.
Great story on her and great to see more of Tyler's style (very similar to Barmore's)....
We've got leadership and soon-to-be reemerging program to be proud of. Really good, insightful story. Looking forward to cheering for Brandi tonight.
Very good insight into the program. Shows there is a lot more than x's and o's. Tuff love wins out.
Nice article that makes me very proud of HCTS and Brandi.
In the pregame radio interview with CTS, Malcolm reminisced about watching one of last season's practice where Brandi was running "stadiums" while Tyler yelled, "Get over yourself!"
A little anecdote for those who occasionally question whether "the boy" has it in him.
After reading this again, I'm amazed we did as well as we did last year. Tyler has been severely criticized by some here for under performing. Maybe they should rethink their posts. Hope we can keep him for a long time.
