Lest we move on from this year's football season and forget the recent success, it bears pointing out that Tech was one of just 40 teams to win a bowl game this year. That's right 40 out of 130+ FBS schools. Oh....that doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment when viewed in that context.

But! when you list schools who have won back to back bowls the past two seasons, the list shortens to just 17. Here they are:

Well, maybe not. But, still a nice accomplishment. Now...if we can make it three in a row, that list will assuredly shrink some more. Just wanted to point out that winning back to back bowls is nothing to sneeze at. Look at the schools NOT on that list!

An intrasquad scrimmage will give you a better feel? We should be fine at all the skill positions. OLine should be at least as good. Defense has some rebuilding to do. Special teams will be bad again.

No excuse for not winning 6 games with a 4th year HC who has already been to and won two in a row.

QB is my biggest concern. Who will be starting and how good does he look? LB is probably next concern... same questions. I like that we just got a JC Safety to play beside Woods. Who will be the top 4 Corners and are they good? Who will fill Butler's spot?

I do like the receivers and OL.

It is "Rarified air" that we will continue to enjoy.

Hoping special teams aren't impossible to fix. Stay in your lane and don't overrun the play. Make a tackle. Don't punter and kicker come back?

I would hope so. My biggest concern is losing all those starters and experience off of a defense that let us down time after time when we played a good offense. Are we going to get even worse with less experienced players and maybe even a little less talent? Will Baker continue to improve as a gameplanner, caller, DC? I hope a year under his belt will help him in those areas. I really like some of our young talent but it's hard to believe we'll be as good on D and we stunk vs good teams so where does that leave us?

Also depends on QB. If Higgins starts more than 2 games we finish 4-8 or 5-7. Anyone else and I think 6-7 wins is likely. I'd take 6 right now and 3rd bowl game be happy in a rebuilding year.

I agree that QB is the key. We would have had a bowl-eligible team Skip's first year with better QB play.
