Edwards administration notifies LA universities of potential cuts of $131 million

My guess is the threat of drastic higher education cuts will be used as a way for the State Legislature to raise taxes during next month's Special Session. Sort of a "if we don't raise taxes, the universities will get gutted" move.

Those statements are laughable. Everybody except those living in Texas knew the next governor was inheriting an disaster of a budget from Jindal, and we've all known it for a long while. Half my posts on this politics board say that. Jindal's budget tricks were not a secret.

Southern (I think it was them) is laying off 200 faculty and canceling summer school.
