We know how Appleby fared trying to come back that late in a season after an injury. I would rather see him seek a medical red shirt and have another go at it next year. I doubt he would bring much more than we currently have given the nature of his injury...but he could surprise by not playing soft bc he is not fearful of re-injuring it.
LA Tech has one (1) Top 5 CUSA game remaining on its schedule. So, Tech clearly has the easiest remaining schedule of any of the Top 4 teams.
MTSU has (2) Top 5 games left, with both at home (UAB & Marshall). So, of the Top 4 teams, MTSU has the 2nd easiest schedule remaining.
UAB has (2) Top 5 games remaining, with one of those games being played at MTSU.
Marshall has (4) Top 5 games remaining, with 2 on the road and 2 at home. Marshall also has a tough game remaining at #7 Charlotte.
I see Marshall fading hard down the stretch. Look for Marshall to lose at least 2 of their remaining 6 games to finish no better than 13-5 in CUSA.
MTSU will lose 1 of its remaining 5 games, and finish no better than 14-4 in CUSA.
UAB will lose at least 1 remaining game, and finish no better than 15-3 in CUSA.
LA Tech should run the table and finish 14-4 in CUSA, tied with MTSU for 2nd place. LA Tech will be declared the #2 seed in the CUSA Tournament due to it's head to head advantage over MTSU.
There it is. LA Tech will be the #2 seed.
We are a 12.5 favorite tomorrow night. O/U at 160.
If we get the 2nd seed I will be thrilled.
it doesn't matter what seed we will be. We have the ability to beat anyone at home and lose to anyone on the road.
All road games could be a loss at this point.
If we're the #2 seed it will be interesting to see how the game scheduling works compared to last year's #2 seed.
Bracket by seeding and scheduling are already set.

Is something rotten in the state of Denmark (AKA Birmingham)?
This bracket may not be totally set, yet. In the past, ticket sales seem to be more important than giving the #1 seed the most favorable route to the championship. I would prefer the #1 seed getting the most favorable slot, no matter how that effects ticket sales.
After two years of Louisiana Tech being #1 seed and getting the worst time slot in the bracket so the host team could play in the 6 p.m. game, now everybody's choice to be the #1 seed (UAB) could get the traditional and most favorable time slot of playing the first game. It would be justice if the host team #1 seed (UAB) got switched to play in the evening session, and we got the early session as a #2 or #3 seed.
I think I would prefer UAB playing on a weekday afternoon in front of a much smaller crowd. All non-UAB fans will be cheering for the lower seed to win.
I got a fever, and the only cure is March Madness!
I love championship week when some 15-11 team, East Central A&M State, wins the automatic bid and all 500 of their fans go bonkers!!! The conference tourneys are often better than the Big Dance itself. Well, the first two rounds are pretty cool, after that it gets kind of boring.
