The strange thing is they have a score beside us and UAB already today. If we lose 53-49, I am claiming it was rigged!!!!!!!!

Interestingly, even though we certainly didn't help ourselves with this road trip, we didn't kill ourselves either. We are in a 4 way tie for 4th right now. The 5-0 home record helps tremendously.
UTEP - 1 loss
MTSU and WKU - 2 losses
Charlotte, Techsters, ODU, and Marshall all with 5 losses.
We need to win our home games coming up to stay in this race to be in the top 4 come tournament time. We could have separated ourselves and been in lone 4th place with one win on the road.
If we are able to pull off the upset against UTEP on Saturday and WKU beats Charlotte, we move in to sole place as #4.

I think (though I know some will differ) that the answer is entirely different for Tennessee. The simple answer there is to hire the right coach. No matter what she says now, I cannot be persuaded that our "right coach" would have stayed at Tech for many years.

We are currently in 5th place in the standings. Charlotte is one game ahead of us, but have to play UTEP at UTEP this Saturday. They have the tie-breaker over us, I believe, though.
We need to win out the rest of our games: At Rice and upset WKU at the TAC......... Going to be tough to get that 4th place finish. We, also, need for Charlotte to be tripped up by UTEP (should happen) and for UNT to upset them on Charlotte's home floor (that one is a long shot).
Likely scenario is a 5th place finish, unless the stars align........ We just need to finish strong and hope for the best now.

As of 2/28/15, we stand alone in 5th place - one full game behind Charlotte.
Charlotte hosts Rice and North Texas this week. They have 6 losses. We need North Texas and Rice to step it up on the road and upset them.
We have 7 losses and host Marshall and WKU. Good news is we are at the TAC - bad news is that WKU is tied for 2nd with MTSU and only has 3 losses. We HAVE to step it up and hope that Rice and North Texas do their job.
Some is in our control to get into 4th place and some we have to depend on the kindness of strangers.
Or, in our case, "...on the competitiveness of strangers."
Whichever word, you've quoted an appropriate reference. The way this season has gone up & down with our game-to-game inconsistencies, sometimes I've feel like joining Blanche DuBois at Mandeville.
