I'm sorry JBE, you encouraged a tax increase that we can't afford. Therefore, you won't get paid this year because I can't feed my family if I pay the tax you are requiring.

I think he figured out he didn't have the power or the support to do what he had threatened. Now, he will simply stick it to the schools to figure out.
If that's what they said, it's not quite right. The 14th day (9th day for Tech) is when attendance is reported, so professors report who's attending, who's not, etc. Once the university has that info--and keep in mind there are late reporters, so it's imprecise--they bill LOSFA and the reimbursement occurs. I was told today that Delta CC had sent their bill to LOSFA but not received their reimbursement, so...
Now might be a good time for the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors and interim President to offer up a proposal for consolidation and streamlining of Louisiana's universities as a preemptive cost reduction.

We all do, but to be fair, the governor said this earlier in the day: "As I said last night, students on TOPS this semester will not see cuts. The universities will absorb the TOPS shortfall this year. Students will not receive any bills for this shortfall or lose any TOPS awards this semester."
Except he didn't say that last night.

My point: He said he said it last night. That was a lie. Why should we believe anything he says when he has told so many lies he can't remember what he said and when?

Yeah the "Army Ranger" BS he ran on. Some voters actually believed that was something special that qualified him to be a conservative.
Conservative or liberal I expect a West Point grad (or Annapolis grad) to be a better communicator. Period.
Kinda like a Tech engineering grad I expect to be amongst the best ones available for the job market.

When a guy runs on being an honorable person and using his military background as a reference you know he is not to be trusted. Communication skills and trust go hand in hand. Hell of a snake oil salesman though.
