Louisiana Governor Threatens to cut College Football

Plano's budget for 2015-16 was 540.4 million with 485 million from local sources. Plano has a population of somewhere around 250-270K.

We're voting May 7th on a 481 million bond that supposedly will not increase taxes. 2008 bond was for 490 million.

Plano has approx 55,000 students so that would be $9,825 per student.

They get around it by just increasing property "value". Net taxes go up, but the "rate" stays the same.

There are folks on the CUSA board calling for our closure or being under the ULM umbrella because we are "underperformers." Message boards don't mean much other than relating a prevailing sentiment. However, were outsiders to attempt to sway public opinion by bombardment of hyperbole and ignorance, the masses may be influenced.

After decades of being an unaddressed problem, it seems there may be serious consideration of closing and/or consolidation.
