who is going to coach special teams? The new safeties coach?

I could be wrong, but is it true that the state only pays a portion of the salary and the rest comes from private sources? Seems like I've read that somewhere.
there appears to be a co-relation between Alumni support ( money) when we have good football teams-- success in sports has VALUE... if football generates pride in University etc. I am NOT saying I am correct on this-- just understand we are doing opposite of what UAB did--they dropped football and lost Alumni support. Coach Holtz will be dealing big time issues trying to sign next yrs recruits with possible scholarship cuts ( tops) we already lost one who blamed it on Tops-- probably had more to do with Notre Dame and other schools but ... guess question is this, will the extra money generate enough pride and Alumni support to cover keeping football ... because you either die or grow--
That's true, but to the public, students, faculty, and media, it doesn't matter where the money comes from. It's a major PR blunder. It's exactly why LSU's president decided they couldn't fire Les Miles. Buying out coaches for $17 million is a big PR no-no when the university is in financial crisis.

probably not--he should be looking for a program that can give student -athletes a scholarship. Do not understand why Holtz would even consider hanging around in La -- he must love it it Ruston. recruiting will be a joke-- "you really want to play in what state?? Louisiana?? you may not have scholarship money much less a subsidy." -- problem for me is I have been posting my concerns about this stuff for years--- the bang we get for our buck ( budget) .. we been bickering about importance of 4 yrs better kickoff coverage average ... does seem pretty silly now
The only thing stupid and lacking any forethought here is our AD telling newspapers that he's giving the university's highest paid employee a raise during an unprecedented financial crisis when professors are being told to prepare for furloughs and students are being told they won't be receiving their scholarships and financial aid.
I think you need to amend it to state financial aid. Tech can't stop federal aid distributions.
