When we came in, they asked my son if he was chewing gum or seeds. Does anyone know what he policy is for dip or chaw? Not for my sons sake. Just curious.

Several parks around the country have banned seeds. Nothing prohibits gum or seeds from Dixie unless they've added it in the last year or two. Umpires have some say on things. I had an umpire who didn't allow all the eye black smeared all over the face. I liked that. Looks stupid.
Sorry md, should have been more specific. I am thinking they prohibited gum or seeds due to the new field turf at Tech. Was wondering what, if any, rules they now have concerning tobacco products for our upgraded playing surface.
The NCAA has a zero tolerance rule on tobacco. It's been that way for years.

Good rule. And I like the rules about the gum and seeds as well. That field is awesome and I hope we can get the full useful life out of it.
Of the turf fields, a big NO NO on gum and seeds...I bet that is probably the reason.

Glad they have the rule. Hope players follow it.
