We all know you don't have to be drunk to get a DUI. Drink a beer or two on an empty stomach and most people are drunk enough to fail the test. The comments from those who say he had too much to lose...yeah he did. This won't be his last poor decision.

I wouldn't assume that. He's probably already gotten some money for signing with an agent and I'd imagine his credit is good.
However, any of those who try to spin this like they did what happened in Panama City Beach last summer are delusional. He obviously has a lack of discretion, maybe worse. I admit that I drove under the influence a few times in college but it was with trepidation and focus (scared as hell). This smacks of reckless presumption. Hope I'm wrong.

Knowing people that know Dak personally I have only heard that he is a great guy. I hope he doesn't make a lot more mistakes like some people on this board would like to see.
Johnny Football has tweeted Dak "let's get together and party, dude!" And yes, Dixonfor6, I hope Dak falls flat on his face!

I wanted to make sure you did not misunderstand my post. I was pointing out how easy it is to get a DUI followed by D.P. making a mistake. Like all of us, he will make more mistakes down the road. Hopefully none of them will hurt his career or his life. Some mistakes are magnified because of who they are made by.

I hate to see anyone screw up their future with stupid mistakes. I hope this is a wake up call and he will learn from it and move forward. He does seem like a good kid.

...except that a 45 year old overweight male who can drink 3 beers w/out a buzz is judged the same as as 16 year old girl who has had her first drink(s). There is not an accurate measurement of "being impaired", but MADD has pressured the PC crowd to accept a ridiculous standard of being drunk or sober. Now days if somebody in the vehicle has a drink in hand, the driver can be ticketed. That's insane and certainly NOT about safety.Maybe that's why it's called driving under the influence.

I hope nothing but the best for him. If any of you find yourself in the situation of being a month away from being a millionaire, do yourself a favor. Avoid all alcohol and drugs at least until the ink dries on the contract. That means no hanging out in bars waiting on the next tough guy wanting to make a name for himself to pick a fight with you. And when you get paid your first check, remember it was me that gave you such good advice.
