I don't remember the sport, maybe baseball, but the last time something like this happened, it was because one of the other universities had posted their schedule prematurely.

Attn: Coach Konkol -- Tech fans in Shreveport have no interest in watching us play Grambling. We need to pull out of this event immediately.
If the SBSC wants Tech to play in Bossier, then they need to put up the money to bring in a quality opponent. If not, then no deal.
But don't believe for one second that Grambling was first contacted Thursday. Sixteen weeks ago I was told Tech, NLULM, NWST, and Grambling would play in this event.
Our beat writer should ask him what he thinks about the set up, but he won't.

This is beyond hold your nose. This is absolutely, 100% unacceptable. In no world or circumstance is this ok. Only in the twisted mind of our AD (and perhaps our HC) for allowing this abomination to even be discussed.
This was immediately my first thought when the story broke. I know he's been "active" over here with sports politicos. While mending S-BC relations was good after our screwing by the bowl, political rear smooching has its limits. Tech is soaring academically, winning in the arena, attendance keeps leaping, even without the S-BC sports powers that be. It's in THEIR interest to court us too. We're doing pretty darn good in spite of THEM.
The game vs Grambling is not on the sports commission website calendar yet. Maybe there's hope this fiasco can yet be fixed with something in our interest, for a change. Grumbling about Grambling? You betcha.
