after several years of giving it a try, with close calls and screw ups, Brendan got him a Thunder Chicken this morning. Couldn't be more proud of the boy. I believe everything we experienced this season built up to this moment. We've been on roosted birds and watched them fly down only to have one pass just out of range, called one out of a bottom to the top of the hill to us being in full strut when he came into view, full strut when he turned just out of range, full strut when a hen joined him and he went back into the bottom, the bird we called from a LONGGGGG way off only to have him get nervous and "bug out" where all we saw was a blue/white had running through the hardwood bottoms the wrong way. frustrating, heck yes, exciting, heck ya, consider every moment a blessing, without a doubt, God is good.
came back and added a fishing pic from Sunday afternoon. Did a little pond fishing and Brendan caught his biggest bass thus far. He had a heck of an outdoors weekend.
