Personally not a fan of the offense vs defense format. It stinks.
I agree. I would have liked to have seen Price Wilson and J'mar Smith QBing one team of balanced Bulldog talent against Ryan Higgins and Jack Abraham on another. Then we could see who's got good leadership skills and who doesn't. I believe it would also have been more competitive.
I loved it for the competitiveness to get ready for this fall. Great film when you go 1 vs 1. It wasn't that entertaining but was a much better for evaluation of talent. I watched the OL and saw some good things and some really bad things. I spoke with the OL coach and he is a great guy and knows his stuff. He saw the same things: can't get beat inside on pass pro, need to get stronger, bad first step by tackles that made them chase speed rushers. We did get some good push on short yardage and the guys switched very well in pass pro. We have 8-10 guys that could see playing time this fall. We also had a lot of young guys that we be pretty damn good by the end of next year. I really liked watching 57 run down the DB that picked up a fumble.
Overall good but need some work.
I was okay with the defense/offense split. The point system was heavily stacked against the defense, though.
I really can't.
But, I've been told there was a major investigation launched over Saturday's 40-yard race between Blizzard and Curly the Cone.
Blizzard, I'm told, was supposed to win. On "ready, set" Blizzard was supposed to start early, but he/she didn't, and Curly ran a clean race and ended up winning and everyone who had the ice cream cone tickets were the winners.
Before being put back in the icebox, Blizzard confessed to the detectives about the fix:
"I just got cold feet."

I don't think we went 1 vs 1. I believe it was 1O vs 2D and 2O vs 1D most of the time. Ferguson was in Wilson's face all day. The coaches were a little too involved for a spring game for my taste. Signal the plays in, get off the field and let the players play. No big deal just not my preference.
