Bring back the sleeves.
Will Mickie DeMoss still be on staff?
I assume she has family back in Hamburg, AR (1.5 hr away from Ruston). A plus for her coaching at her alma mater.
Cool! I cannot see Kim M. doing that.
It's probably not considered to be a flashy hire, but I think it will turn out to be a good/great hire. I'm looking forward to next season now.
Looking forward to next season also!!! I think right now what we need is a low key hire. I think Brooke is a perfect fit for the job. After reading the NSU article and her NSU bio, it seems like she is very family ( her parents are at almost every home game to help babysit her kids ) and community oriented. This is something that should bode well in talking with current players, recruits and especially their parents.
She's no Stacy Johnson Klein.......but then again, few women coaches can compete with that. I do wish Coach Stoehr the best.
Welcome HOME Brook!
Looking at Brooke's time at NW State, one thing stands out - she prepares her team well for tournaments. Finishing 4th in the conference and winning the conference tournament twice says a lot for how she is able to get her team ready for the post season. I want to win regular season championships, but I grow weary of the conference tournament every year in men's and women's basketball. It is time that we have a coach that can get her team ready and "up" for the NCAA bid!
IF she can keep our current players here and a couple of recruits, she will start out with some talent to build from. Hoping she can do that! However, even if she can't keep everyone, she is a great recruiter and may pick up some late recruits that can fill out our roster for this year - even if she needs to go the JUCO route first.
